Based on recent questions published by various examination boards, including OCR, AQA, WJEC, MEI, EdExcel, MEP

The aim of this site is to help you improve your GCSE grade, not necessarily to help improve your mathematical skills - though there may be a link between the two!

Remember that to achieve a Grade B on an Intermediate GCSE paper you have to make few mistakes and score very highly - probably over 75%. Check out the B list.
Improve your exam technique. Practise your skills. This site contains over a thousand Intermediate GCSE exam questions from examinations sat recently.

Each example shows, step by step, how to answer these questions. BUT just reading these steps is not enough... To make sure you really understand them you must DO THEM YOURSELF.
1) Copy a question down on paper.
2) Do it.
3) Check to see if you were right.
Repeat these three steps until you get the right answer every time. Work for short concentrated periods - 20 minutes to half an hour. Try the topics first, then the quick tests, then the exam papers and finally the printable papers more.

For example, here is a typical number question:

Got an answer? Good. Now press the button...
Did you get it right? Not sure? Click on the change button. Work out the answer to this new question yourself then press the steps and check.
Once you have got this question sorted you are ready to try another. Look for the more button on each page.
